Excelsior! Stan Lee Cameos

The Many Faces of Stan Lee

The Many Faces of Stan Lee

Today is the first day of the first Tree-City Comic Con in Boise, Idaho. To honor their maiden voyage, Blogs From Geekdom has put together a review of the man that has had one of the biggest influences on the comic book world…Stan Lee.

Stan “The Man” Lee keeps popping up in Marvel movies! Sometimes he speaks, but usually if you blink you’d miss him. We’re going to help you out with a little Where’s Stan?

Stan Lee is the infamous creator (or co-creator) of almost ALL of the Marvel characters we’ve come to love in the comics and on the big screen. His contributions to the comic book world include The Fantastic Four, The Incredible Hulk and The Amazing Spiderman. While he has not always been the one created the characters, he is man that developed many of the storylines throughout the 60s that made the characters who they are today. Due to his popularity among comic enthusiasts and close connection to the Marvel world, lately he has been appearing as a cameo in every Marvel movie. Typically his cameo is a tongue-in-cheek joke, sometimes only funny because it’s him!

Lee has been involved with the Marvel characters on-screen versions since the early 80s when he served as narrator for both The Incredible Hulk series and the Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends series. His first physical appearance in a Marvel production was not until 1989 when he played the jury foreman in The Trial of the Incredible Hulk.
