The Howard Johnson’s in Anaheim is conveniently located across the street from Disneyland park. Someone a few years back had the brilliant idea of putting a live webcam on top of their hotel pointing into the park!
Now, every 30 seconds or so, the camera rotates around the park, showing us poor schmucks stuck at home the fun we could be having right this minute at Disneyland! There are terrific shots of Space Mountain and the Matterhorn, including a close-up where bobsleds can be seen zipping past.
It also rotates to shots of Carsland, Mickey’s Fun Wheel and California Screamin’ in Disney’s California Adventure! Check out this shot of DCA’s roller coaster midway through the loop!…
If you get on at the right time, you can even catch a live feed of the fireworks show each night! Pretty cool!
One of my favorite views is of the Esplanade where you can see people out there having fun and sometimes catch a glimpse of the monorail. I just love to see people out there enjoying my favorite place on the planet!
There is no sound and many of the shots don’t have much going on. It’s still better than the street view on Google maps where you can get a 360* view of the park from 4 different locations. But they are distorted stills from two years ago.
