Can you believe the nerve of some squirrels!? If and when the birds finally revolt, it will not be the human’s fault. It will all be due to these obnoxious squirrels! Find out what happened. Read on…
My son, the Geek Spawn built this bird feeder at a craft fair a couple years ago. It’s basically just a platform that you put birdseed, leftover stale bread, or whatever else birds might eat in. This particular day, we had an uneaten cinnamon donut.
I was sitting here, calmly working on one of last week’s blog posts, when out on the deck, there arose such a clatter. I sprang from my computer to see what was the matter. When what to my wondering eyes should appear… but a squirrel! It had climbed down from the roof, into the feeder, causing the entire thing to swing against the house. Bam! Bam! BAM!
I watched as the rodent pushed the donut over the edge, letting it drop to the ground. It leaped down from the feeder and began nibbling on its stolen booty.
Sensing that someone was taking pictures of it, the squirrel grabbed the donut and ran away. A couple hours later, bam! Bam! BAM! It was back. But now the feeder was empty. So what did I do? I opened the door to the deck and started yelling at the miserable creature. It leapt up the nearest tree and scurried away, probably having a little tiny heart attack.
I now have a better understanding of Clark Griswald and his Christmas troubles:
Do you have varmint troubles too? Did you, like me, think varmint was spelled without the ‘n’? Tell me about it below!
LOL We had the exact same problems! The squirrels in our yard ended up eating all the birdseed so the birds stopped visiting.

They’re just so rude! They should know it’s not for them! It’s a BIRD feeder, not a SQUIRREL feeder!

You might already. You /did/ call them varmints.

Good point. Those kind of racial slurs will drive them crazier than a squirrel in a nut factory! …oh no! Stereotyping!

*sighs* One must do what one must to be politically correct these days.

Everyone wants their voice to be heard. Apparently even the squirrels.
